Rosemary Kavanagh, based in West Limerick, is the two hands behind Wild Rose Basketry. Rosemary has dedicated the past 10 years of her life to courting Ancient Arts and many ways of the land that are wise and wrinkled with time. It is her belief that creation is what makes us human. And by creating beauty through healthly relationship to place, heritage, and our inspiration we create resilient and meaningful culture.
‘I believe the wealth of our world is in the health of our culture. I believe in a future where our traditions and ancient ways of belonging to the Earth are cherished like precious jewels— honoured for the clarity of their reflection and tended in praise of the many hands that have carried the richness of their wisdom throughout Time.’

“I fell for willow basketry through my fascination with the full circle connection. Every part of this ancient craft is rooted in place, carved smooth by the generations before, sculpted by humans hands, and every basket a unique creation telling a story spoken for thousands of years: We Belong to this Land.”
