Cruinniú na nÓg is a Creative Ireland initiative that aims to celebrate and encourage children and young people’s participation in culture and creativity through a compelling spread of performances, coding, theatre, art and music workshops, readings and screenings, special events and much more. Every year, this variety of youth-centred events are free and activity-based, with plenty of opportunities for children and young people to get ‘doing’, ‘making’ and ‘creating’.

To celebrate Cruinniu na nÓg – National Day of Free Creativity for Children - Chapel Hill School of Art invites children and young people to perform, exhibit, and reveal their talents as part of a creative showcase celebrating young people and their gifts on June 11th 2022.
Students of your school or group are invited to participate in the Showcase.

On the day you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn and enjoy the celebration which will not only includes performance by children and young people but also demonstrations, workshops, music with the Fresh Air Collective, food and plenty of opportunity to get involved in a variety of creative activities in a fun, family friendly atmosphere.
Set in the beautiful grounds of the newly restored former convent on Chapel Hill in Macroom the School of Art offers an array of top quality Art classes, one day workshops, exhibitions and free events throughout the year. Come explore your creative abilities, learn something new with professional Artist Educators in fun, learn and explore, welcoming atmosphere.

Fresh Air Collective - Cruinniú na nÓg at Chapel Hill School of Art,
Ruti Lachs (accordion/voice) and Edel Sullivan (fiddle) are members of The Fresh Air Collective, a group of musicians who play an eclectic and lively mix of folk and klezmer music. They deliver a wonderful cross range of acoustic music from around the globe, including France, Argentina, Eastern Europe and America, as well as some original compositions.
They are delighted to perform as part of the Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations at Chapel Hill School of Art, Macroom, Co. Cork. For this special event they will be including some participatory dances and songs.
They promise a fun performance for EVEYONE OF ALL AGES!
