Muireann Kelleher
Art teacher
Muireann Kelleher is a visual artist based in Cork, working primarily within the disciplines of life-drawing, mark-making and painting.
Muireann completed the BA (Hons) Fine Art in Crawford College and Art and Design in 2018 and her Professional Master of Education (Art & Design) in 2021.
She has received several awards, including the Cork County Council Solo Exhibition and Bursary and the CIT Tyndall Science Week Exhibition and Bursary. Since graduating, Muireann has continued to exhibit her artwork in multiple group and solo exhibitions.
Muireann's work focuses on drawing and mark-making, building mechanisms that impact and interrupt her creative processes while creating drawings that reflect the nature of their making.
"Drawing is a fundamental aspect of my creative endeavour, which I employ to record ideas and problem-solve. I view drawing as an immersive experience to everyday life, as it carries my work from process to realisation. My approach to drawing is spontaneous and experimental, and I frequently combine drawing with various artforms inducing multimedia, sculpture, sound and performance to question and expand the limits of drawing as an Art.”
